Swarali is originally from Mumbai, India - the heart of Bollywood!!! Swara started dancing at the age of 6 and trained extensively in a range of dance styles like Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Indian Folk, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern and Street Jazz. Her professional career took off at the age of 8 as she travelled nationally for folk dance ballets and competed on national/international television. A regular face on television, Swara proceeded to win India’s heart as she became the only female finalist on Asia's biggest dance reality show - Dance India Dance 4 and continued as an onscreen mentor for their future seasons. 


Swarali has worked as a choreographer and performer for various other televised dance shows like Dance Plus, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Nach Baliye, IGT, and Boogie Woogie, amongst others. With 13 years of experience in the Bollywood Industry, Swarali has worked with many Bollywood celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, and Madhuri Dixit to name a few. She was also an assistant to Ahmed Khan for several movies. 


In a search for more meaning to movement, Swara moved to New York in 2014 and obtained her masters in Dance Therapy. Following this, Swara approaches her work holistically as a combination of her commercial experience and therapeutic lens of movement. After moving to the States, Swarali redirected her focus to choreographing and teaching for Broadway/Off-Broadway musicals and the Mystic India World Tour. She  featured in international music videos and performed for prestigious events like Jaco’s Pillow, NYFW, NY Comedy Festival, Bronx Festival amongst others. Following her commercial route, She performed solo on the Stephen Colbert show with Riz Ahmed, choreographed and performed solo with Oscar-winning music director - A. R. Rahman for IIFA 2017, and was titled International Indian Dance Icon after her victory in the USA vs. Canada dance contest. Excitingly enough, Bruno Mars shared her video on his official fan page as one of his favorite videos to “Finesse.”


Swarali strongly believes in the statement, "I dance, therefore I am" and is spreading this message through her unique concept of empowering BollyHeels workshops and performances across the globe!
